Good deal! Congrats! I know what you mean about the work after the shooting is over though. We had the same experience with my stepson's second deer. It took us an hour to get him up the hill and another 3 hrs. to drag it back to camp. I was one solid cramp from head to toe and couldn't even move for 2 hrs. But I'd definitely do it for an 8 pointer though. Glad to hear your success story! Thanks!
Hey, I killed an 8 pointer this morning with my Remington 770 7mm-08. Weighed about 150 lbs and I had to drag him out of a creek bottom and up a huge hill. He kept getting heavier the farther I dragged him.
The actions are extremely rough, and the barrels are pressed and glued to the reciever, not threaded. They are just not a firearm that you would want to buy and keep for years to come. They may be ok for someone on a budget, but the Stevens 200 is a much better choice for that.
Good deal. Just did some quail hunting where we heard some last weekend. I guess they were out of town because they weren't around. Did get to sight in my step son's new .308 Ruger rifle. Really sweet. Good shootin to ya.
I like to get out of town when I can. haven't had the money this year. I should start hiking I guess. I have friends down near temecula gets me out of la a bit.
