I think the neighbor might read G&G. Since the day I made the post, she has kept her cats in her house. I haven't even seen them in her yard.

Your welcome. I've been loading for my son the past few weeks. He is 19. When we shoot together it is almost like he is little again.

(4th attempt at a mssg. to Frank M)

I'm planning to move to Fortuna as soon as I retire (as soon as my house sells). How's the shooting around there? I know of Fortuna Pistol Club, Redwood Gun Club , and the Simpson range, but are there any unorganized places to shoot? Varments? I'm not a hunter (grew up in LA and don't know anyone who hunts) but I do love to shoot and reload!

    Stuck in LA,
    Mike I.

The data I gave was from Ed Harris. He is the most knowledgeable shooter/handloader/bullet caster I have ever known. He used to write for the NRA. He also invented ED's Red Cleaning fluid. The man is brilliant. Don't tell him I said that though. Jim

The starting load with the 52gr Hornady bullet is 19.2gr of IMR-4198. I would start there and work up to Col. Harris' load of 22.0gr. According to the Hornady manual 21.9gr of IMR-4198 is the maximum charge.
