I saw a brand new remington yesterday that would make me buy one.It is a stainless heavy varmint barreled thumbhole stocked 22/250.But i dont think i would spend $1700 for it.

Thats cool just throwing it out. I did like the Remington Accelerators way back in the '80s. I like that carbine you made.

Plus i own a 222 and a 22/250 that work awesome.

sorry to just barge in but since you reload have you thought about ordering sabots and loading some .223 sabot rounds for your martini. Also HL since you can rebarrel to .30-30 then .219 zipper might be right up your alley. Tim they claim 3500fps with the sabot in a .30-30 and 4500fps in an '06. http://www.ammo-one.com/SABOT.html

They are all good in my book,308,303,30/06.There isnt much difference in the volume as far as im concerned.I have a 300wm and love it.

i have a little cadet bsa in 22hornet, its a bloody little tack driver. i also have a 670model in 243win and a 6.5 sweed, i am looking for a bigger riflefor long shots on big game, some one told me to get a 3006, but all the reports on them have been shit, to loud, kick to much and unaccurate, i think ill settle on a 308 rahter than a 303.

The action will hold up to the pressure of a 308.BUT the amount of meat on the chamber barrel wouldnt be enough,plus the extraction isnt the best.I have a cadet in 30/30 improved and the barrle/chamber size is the issue.Ive been told by some not to use it and by others dont worry about it.The 222 rimmed makes an awesome cadet round.Brass might be hard to find unless you look up Bertram Brass in victoria or find a good supply of old super or riverbrand brass.My old cadet 222 rimmed improved was very accurate.I used it as my main spotlighting gun for 2 years until i bought my 22/250.22 hornetK is what i am very keen to rechamber my 3030 cadet,or 17hornetK.Dont give up mate.If you have a cadet action that isnt original make it something special.

a rimmed 222 sounds good, it is a large frame, i have been speaking with a gunsmith in castle maine and he said its not worth rebarreling it in 303, and that i should consider buying a new 308, he said the martini action wouldnt hold up to the pressures of the 308, but anyway iv given away the idea for now, i live in warracknabeal vic.
