Picture "96 Krag Calvary Carbine.
It started out life as a "96 rifle It supposedly has a carbine barrel. Had the stock in the other Krag folder. '96 Rear rifle sight Found a '96 carbine stock, professionally cut down to '98 carbine length, sold to me as an arsenal cut down? I had the saddle ring put in and the rear sling swivel hole filled in. Working on the hand guard (Boyd Bro.s)
It's for shooting not collecting so I'm worrying about it, just that it looks like it's supposed to. The receiver has been drilled and tapped for a scope mount, I just haven't had the ambitionor patience to fix the holes yet, its a pain in the butt to do

Picture Romanian 22 Stock-working on
Rumanian 22LR Training Rifle had normal varnish and cosmoline. It will look like it does now, I have a few more coats of tru-oil to put on it. Then some Johnsons paste wax and a buff.

Picture My Pride and Joy
This was a Police Dept. Trade in at my favorite toy store. This stock was literally black with varnish and I guess cosmoline. It doubled when fired. Did a match condition on the new hammer and trigger w/sear. New gas cyl. NM front sight It was rebarreled 8-65, dosen't look like it was fired too much, passes the bullet test haven't gauged it yet, but it's not a bad shooter. have nm op rod I use with AP ammo at 600 yards. Got a couple of 150 gr Korean ammo. I'm going to bench rest it when the weather breaks after Memorial Day to see if it's a tack driver or not.
It's a Spingfield Armory (the real one) s/n1923XXX, haven't researched it yet. It has all SA parts but I Haven't written down the drawing numbers to see if they are correct for the gun.

This is a Russian capture K98. Man. code BYF 42
The stock was almost totally black when I got it. I stripped the wood. Then 4 coats of boiled linseed-cut with mineral spirits and 6 coats of tung oil-again cut with mineral spirits. The butt of this gun must have sat in water, the butt plate was damn near rotted through.
