Jim, I was surprised you liked the lazulite over the white kyanite specimen. While lazulite is gorgeous in its own right, I favored the kyanite in that shipment. I guess different strokes/different folks.

Since you are so fond of it I will try to get you a better specimen on my next trip.

Jim, got the package today also. It's great I couldn't be more happier with it. The brachiopod is real nice also. I don't have one of those. I call it the flying wing because it looks like the B-2 bomber. I believe one of the specimens have crinoid stem in it. Its tiny.

The one with the trilobite fragments; is that the one that is more rectangular in shape with a pointy end? Those are are so tiny its hard to make anything out of them. I am very happy with the trade. Thanks Jim. Use those to show off to your rock friends.

Jim I imagine the trilobites curled up due to muscles tightening up during rigormortis like the necks/tails of velociraptors curling back almost touching. I didn't know I was getting other fossils. Believe me the trilobite was all I needed but I always like anything I can get. Let me know when you look at the rest of the items and if you have any questions let me know.

No, not funny I take my rocks seriously! When the clerk asked me about insurance I said no thery're just rocks. If they get lost I'll go get more.

BTW how many did you send? I assumed you only sent me one. I didn't want to overload on shipping and sent you several of smaller samples of the stuff I have. My kids usually collect the small stuff as I go for the Boulders; Last sample I took was about 20 lbs and I chipped out the plain stuff to about a 4 lbd sample.

If I shorted you I promise I will make it up to you so let me know.

Sent it out Friday at noon. Should have it in about 5 days. I didn't insure or track it as its only rocks. If you don't get it let me know and I'll ship out some new ones. Wow 3 lbd of rocks cost a lot to ship! 7$

Ok Jim you guilted me into it. I just got done in the garage trying to pick out some stuff w/out being stingy. Got you some really nice stuff. Since you like geology this stuff tells a story. Basically this area underwent ALOT of metamorphism accompanied with hydrothermal activity. Because of this some of the minerals are not normally occuring in a pure or pristine state. However they are gorgeous in their own right.

Blue Qtz - rare because it occurs at extreme depth and temp (opaque blue not solid blue) Lazulite - rare earth mineral dark blue dipyramidal xtls may be one in pure form. Kyanite - lt blue platy xtls; however I am sending you some that is also covered or stained by hydrothermal activity with iron and even has a hint of irridescence (shiny coat). I am also sending you hematite. This will come in an amorphous coating with an irridescence ranging from metallic to blues and greens. Will have to watch shipping costs.
