Sorry for the multi post -- maybe I type too much !!! The thing was truncating my post so I had to make a few separate posts.

I agree--it's obvious to me that the malcreants in congress have been lying, and were attempting a witch hunt to persecute former administration officials. This would end poorly; potentially with states offering safe harbor for their political targets and some form of show of force. I really hope we're not headed in this direction of direct conflict between sovereign states and out of control warshington, but on the other hand it might wind up as inevitible. Kongress and a floodgates open polticial administration can't make up "laws" which trample the constitution and expect to get away with it.

I DO hope that this thing is brought to a logical conclusion, but the Lib Dems are the masters of spin--I think they'll (along with a complicit propaganda driven media) try the "look over there" approach by generating a new crisis and get public attention and heat away from their failed attempt to persecute "torture." I would hope Pelosi et al get prosecuted for felony lying under oath, but won't get my hopes up. It's obvious to me that everyone knew everything. I really question why they'd try to bring the whole thing up; it's either a diversion or they show some serious lack of situational awareness. Did they expect the folks who did what they should have to just roll over like the corporate folks ? Guess they thought wrong. This is a real posibility--demagogues tend to overestimate their own power.

It IS frustrating for me sometimes when I discuss the point--especially with "leftist liberals" (don't really have a term that works here). Some of these are the Monday Morning quarterbacks who love fear and guilt, and have no clue as to how life functions--many of the same folks who are in their 40's/50's/60's and try to second guess the dropping of the atomic bomb on Japan. It's impossible to do through their eyes and totally wrong to be judgmental for something they weren't there for and couldn't possibly understand.

I was never a PW (which was one of my greater concerns when I was in), but did receive some similar training to what was "enhanced interrogations." We DON'T torture--period. There's no other way to put it. I had an uncle who was a PW in WWII with the Germans (who did treat our prisoners in general pretty well--kind of like we are doing now but I think we are much "nicer" today than they were on our prisoners for sure).

I DID have some friends and co-workers who were at the Hanoi Hilton and WERE tortured and beat up. It takes away from them, in my opinion, when self-righteous individuals claim what we are doing now is akin to torture--it's nothing close to what my friends had to go through.

Thanks Jim. I tried to give it a good run. Everything else aside, it kept me from falling asleep at my desk the last 2 days!

Jimkim - No apology needed. If we didn't occasionally make a mistake, the world would not be a very interesting place. I haven't read the post you're talking about, but it would need to be extremely abrasive to bother me. I have a pretty thick skin. I've been the sole teacher to cross a picket line during a strike I didn't believe in and was subjected to several weeks of ostracism by my "professional" colleagues. They got really annoyed when I took the union to court (sans lawyer on my part) and won a dispute over the way the collected the agency shop fee. A little slip of the keyboard is no big deal among friends.

    But, thanks for your gallantry.

I have wondered about this for a while. Did the Messiah write his own book? Hmmmm....maybe not.

Breakthrough on the Authorship of Obama's 'Dreams'

By Jack Cashill

Within days of my going public last September with the speculation that terrorist emeritus Bill Ayers helped Barack Obama write his acclaimed memoir, Dreams From My Father, I learned that I was not alone in that intuition.

Since then, I have received helpful contributions

I could listen to him speak all day long. Why could we not have American politicians like this. Watch these videos. Listen to how this man talks about the Constitution of the United States. http://www.danielhannanforcongress.com/

This meant as satire. The left will be quick to point that out. What they don't get is the satirical point of the article. We are being laughed at because we are allowing this to happen. Thank you Obamanation.

Twelve Truths About Legislation
1) Any law the electorate sees as being open to being perverted from its original intent will be perverted in a manner that exceeds the manner of perversion seen at the time.
2) Any law that is so difficult to pass it requires the citizens be assured it will not be a stepping stone to worse laws will in fact be a stepping stone to worse laws.
