How exactly does the recoil system work? Is it a spring or shock or what?

Would you please send me a copy of the pdf that you mentioned too? I am trying to learn how to do all of the mods to the parts myself. I figure that if I fail, I will then buy a drop in unit, but if I'm successful I'll have $60 in my pocket to go toward a scope upgrade (now have a "Universal" 4 x 15)!

Hey mad, are those after market drum mags in your picture? If so, how do yours work? The repro C and L mags I have tried all have feeding issues.

Sorry for the delay on the reply. I inadvertantly deleted your pm and didnt get to read it. I saw a copy in my email so I can respond.

I fired the AR using PMC55fmj that were surprisingly accurate at 25yards, after sighting in with that ammo, I moved the target to 50 yards and put Previ Partisan 62fmj through it. They didnt performso well. I think a large part of the blame lies iin the red dot sight. I decided I will replace that with a holo sight asap so that I can incorporate a rear iron sight. The Millett does not allow room for a rear sight as it is too long.

The rifle functioned flawlessly though, so far I am quite happy with it.
