Hello Rich...I thought I'd stop by and say hello. I hope your do'in very well and I hope the gun show was a success for you. The dail up is so slow I don't enjoy my computer anymore and only get on briefly.
I want to thank you again for helping me and wanting to help me get back up and running.

If this is a sprayed on finish Rich, it's just an air dry one. There is no way it's an oven cured kind. It's just too damn thin...

I plan on having it CeraKoted, the oven cure kind, The guy I spoke to at GPI on Wednesday is the refinisher and who'll be doing my gun said this one, pictured below, is his and in the color I'm wanting.

As for parkerizing it, I'll still have to send it somewhere if I'm going to do that I may as well send it to GPI and have them CeraKote it. Tougher finish then Parkerizing and like I said I can get the color I want, Sniper Grey.

On a side note, the guy I spoke to at GPI on Wednesday, & who is also the refinisher & who will be doing my gun also told me the gun pictured above is his.

It is probably bead blasted and spray painted a Matte Black...Like The Machine Gun Kote I use...Baked on...

Well if they want to consider it abuse with it sitting in a safe when I wasn't shooting it on and off for 2 1/2 yrs. & then in a holster on my hip for 6 months and shooting it, they can kiss my azz. It MSRP's for $1525. I think the finish & quality of the metal should be better then it appears to be. What I'd like to know is how is it ABUSE when it's under the finish? I didn't put the finish on they did. lol Why it wasn't noticeable when I bought it I haven't a clue.

I tried to call S&W Wednesday off & on all day. Every time it went to customer services voice mail & I don't want to talk to a machine. I'll try and call them today. I'll stay up until they open & hopefully be one of the 1st?

I went to their website and it says material and workmanship. Look at the picture. Does that not look like pitting under the finish? If so, does that not fall under material?

Haven't had much time to dive in yet. I am planning on decapping and cleaning the .40 on Sunday or Monday.
