A strong statement from General David Petraeus about Iran's intervention in Iraq could set the stage for a US attack on Iranian military facilities, according to a Whitehall assessment. In closely watched testimony in Washington next week, Gen Petraeus will state that the Iranian threat has risen as Tehran has supplied and directed attacks by militia fighters against the Iraqi state and its US allies.

There are signs that targeting Iran would unite American politicians across the bitter divide on Iraq. "Iran is the bull in the china shop," said Ike Skelton, the Democrat chairman of the Armed Services Committee. "In all of this, they seem to have links to all of the Shi'ite groups, whether they be political or military."
And something else to consider:
On April 3 the International Herald Tribune reported that senators and representatives have made millions of dollars from their investments in defense companies totaling $196 million. Rep. Ike Skelton, the Democrat chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, is already on board with the attack on Iran.
This would be funny if not for the fact our "world" may be about to change drastically. Our economy is riding a very fine line right now, the Middle East is a powder keg and one very small spark could set it off. Our government doesn't care anymore about whats in our best interest, only what fills their pockets. Our top commanders have already said that at our current level a "all volunteer force" is not going to work much longer. Draft anyone? Wonder how long before those REX-84 exercises, are no longer exercises.

Well, here I come with more doom and gloom :wall: . Keep an eye on the ME this weekend. I've seen a lot of reports flying around that something could "happen" in Iran between the 4th and the 6th. Any truth to this? I don't know. But the story about Saudi Arabia preparing for some type of nuclear fallout(Iran's southern nuclear plant getting bombed) is popping up more and more. Also, have any of you seen Department of Homeland Security warnings on your TV? I saw one Sunday that showed pictures of natural disaster type stuff and said don't panic, be ready and be prepared. Seemed kind of odd considering I've never seen a KY DHS ad on TV even since 911. I've also heard this is not an isolated incident, and many people are seeing these ads. The bottom line is the SwHTF as SOON as that plant goes online in Iran. Israel has already said they will not allow this to happen, and you know our decider won't either. I don't know when, but it's supposed to go online this year. As soon as something happens you can believe Iran, Syria, Hamas, and Hezbollah will go all out at Israel, and of course we will come running to help. Right now we have the largest naval deployment in that region since... you guessed it, we invaded Iraq. Not that long ago(last month or so) they sent another carrier and a nuclear sub, and we've also deployed some anti-missile destroyers in recent months. And did you see the report about Al-Qaeda is now "grooming" western looking people? Now our government is coming out and saying they can't really spot them. Hmm, this is like sitting back and watching one HUGE game of chess play out.
