What cartridges would you buy an AK in?

This is both done and not yet done, both standard and custom. What cartridges would you buy an AK chambered in?

I'd like to see one in 30.06 but I'm not sure if the shorter barrel would give the bullet enough time to stabilize or if it could handle enough twist to get the job done.

But, the thought is nice....ooooooooooooooo, yeah.

I'm talking about just the action. If EAA drops the ball on the Saiga 100s I'm going to do a Saiga 308 to 30-06 using the same space buying method as my magazine adaptors. That version would have a 22" barrel.

I think a 35 Rem is first on my list, but 444 Marlin may beat it if the specs check out.
