MN aint so bad. It gets cold so all the riff raff goes south. Keeps it real around here.

Hey, I live in Minnesota. Been here 25 years after escaping from Indiana. I shoot milsurp, cowboy action, muzzleloader(flint), varmint. Hunt duck, deer, pheasant, grouse. Also shoot sporting clays and trap.

I am up here near Detroit Lakes. Live on a lake. Retired from Ohio and moved back to the family property. Fish for sunfish but have a hard time keeping those darn bass from wrecking my gear. Hunt squirrels and cut firewood. Have my own range back in the trees. Might find a warmer place for January.

I guess we should post these messages as new threads so we can show some activity in the MN section. Then when someone looks they won't think Capt'n is the only one in the state. I'll do that!

Hey Capt. I use to live in white bear lake not far from elmo. Now I am out west of you. I have meet 2 other Minn. guys from the forums and both were great guys, hope to meet and talk guns with you some time. We always meet at Famous Daves on Hi way 7. Its close to the Gun stop, a place to spend all our money they have guns and reloading stuff.

I'm a switchman working out of the South St Paul rail yards. Got a cabin up on the north shore near Split Rock light house. I live in Hastings.

What's Lake Elmo speciality they like to shoot? I use to do some DCM/CMP high powered rifle shooting which I enjoyed but alas...the 54 year old eyes lost their edge for peep sights on the AR-15.

Competition Range with 50 yard range and 25 yard range,
100 yard range, covered and sound proofed,
50 yard range,
200 yard range,
25 yard range,
archery range,
boy scout trails.

Another Minnesotan checking in. Far west suburbs. I like a Rem. 760 30-06 for deer near Eveleth and Grygla (although MN DNR has now killed all the deer near Grygla due to bovine TB). Ithaca 37 12 ga. with rifled slug barrel for deer near Long Prairie. Browning Cynergy 12 ga over/under for sporting clays at Wild Marsh in Clearwater. Have a nice compound bow, but lack the necessary time to spend in the woods with it.

I'm a 14 year old farm boy From medford MN, a really small town in southern Minn. But we have a small cabin up north and I spend all my free time up there hunting and fishing. I'm also big into kayaking and canoeing and have always wanted to go to the boundry waters canoe area and was wondering if anybody had any good advice, stories, ect.

Thats just a few miles from my house. I like the gun stop, good prices and the help is good.

As for ranges, I have access to private land about 30 miles from my house, that is usually where I go to do my shooting.

I'm new to this site and new to having a gun, bought a real nice 5904 at a gun show. Couple of months ago ,had a friend along so was not out in the blind. I'm a retired house builder and now a site manger for a ranch. small 200 acres. cattle. Enjoy ATVS' and now at 59 starting to get into guns finally! Great site! Lake city area now, lived in Rochester for 30 years.

Better say hello here as I live in MN as well. My family and I live in the far SW Metro. It's a little quieter here and we like the small town flair (5k people). My true passion is rifle shooting but in the winter I fall back on pistol (easier to find an indoor range). I haven't been much active on the forum for the last couple of month due to family and work but I hope to change this is '09. If someone ever needs a shooting partner, let me know. Most of the people I know that love to shoot and collect as much as I do are from out of state and I'd love to find some people with the same passion "a little closer".

Minnesotan born'n'raised for 21 years. I live just south of Anoka. I don't hunt but I love to shoot my Mosins. Dunno too much on gun shops around here, just got into guns 6 weeks ago. Part time warehouse/gate guard at mills fleet farm, where I caught Mosinitis.

Lived in the north mertro all my life (47 years).
Hunt grouse , deer, small game. Dont get out as much as i would like, seems like theres allways something else going on.
I go to the range for stress release as much as possible ( Metro or bills north).

Hello Boomer; I've liived here in western Hennepin CO. for 60 years. Am a life member of the NRA, and the Minnetonka Sportsmen club. The Gun stop started out, as the Lock stock and barrel, in Tonka Bay. In the mid "70"s a gun smith took over and renamed it the Gun stop. He now has a shop in St. Boni. The Gun stop west. I've bought guns from Howard and he's fair on his prices. And I get my reloading componants from John boy, AKA hundred bucks. I hunt dear (rifle and archery), ducks, grouse, partrage, rabbits, etc. In other words it it's brown its down. If it flies it dies. But I never shoot more than I can eat. I'd like to meet up some time at Famous Daves and chew the fat. Pun intended. Terry the trap shooter.
