Should I remove this Pistol Grip?

I just finished this rifle and I want to know what you guys think of the grip. Im not sure I like it too much but if I remove it then there's a nice 2 inch wide hole. If I do remove it, how should I cover or fill in the hole??

Welcome to gun and game. That is certainly a very......unique looking mosin. You could always buy a new stock. If not the...handle....certainly seems to match

if your unhappy with the look i've had luck with elmers wood filler, it is sandable and stainable. just use a little at a time and let dry so you dont get cracks.

Welcome to G&G from Alaska.

As for the gun.
Put it in the garden, and use it as a tomato stake! LOL

Buy a gun, WITH a pistol grip on it!

All I can say is ... wow! Thats some Mad Max type of tactical!

My buddy and I toyed with a few hand grips, but Ive never seen one like that! We ended up not going the handle route even on our sporters. The gnarly wood etching looks almost like stitches on some frankenstein monster! Does the bolt actually work with that scope?

The more I look at the handle it almost looks like a handle off an old hammer?

My buddy cut his wood stock down at the base of the rings then sanded it to the shape of his hand on the back end better and put a bi pod on the wood itself. It looks pretty good with a nice stain on it. For my sporter I put a synthetic on it. Other than that my other mosins are all in their original uniforms, polished up and ready for action!

Thanks for the post!
Mike

I'd say remove the handgrip, for sure.

Oh, and NCStar makes this cool barrel attachment that actually loops the bullet back around so it can put the rifle out of its own misery. One of those would be awesome!

It's a shame you can't operate the bolt to chamber a round.

dont you atleast have another 80 dollars to buy a bent bolt? id take the grip off. Then id take the scope , bipod, and huge package that only holds five rounds of. The wood etching is kinda cool :/

In all reality, if its your gun and you like how it looks and shoots then good for you. Others may not agree with it but it is yours.
