Rebluing my Mosin 91/30

My poor ol' rifle had a lot of dents and dings and plain old F-ups from the gunsmith that needed touching up. Fortunately, Super Blue was only $6 at my local gun store (White Elephant, Spokane), so I took some home and gave it a go. I'm really happy with the results and can't wait to try their wood refinishing kit.

I've always been a bit ambivalent about rebluing one. It should totally destroy the value of it.

However if it is like not a rare one and is still a good shooter and you got it for like 70-80 dollars, maybe I could be turned on to one.

Looks good. I want to refinish the bolts on my Spanish FR-8 Mauser and M1 Carbine as the finish has pretty well worn off both, with the exception of the bolt handle and the rear portion of the Mauser bolt.. However the rifles have a parkerized finish, would this Super Blue not be good or not match the parkerizing?

I'm in no way an expert on that. This bluing seems to give a shiny finish (once oil is applied) so I'm not sure that'll go with the matte grey of parkerizing.

Thanks. I may try this on my '43 Izzy then and see how it turns out. I've heard some good things about Super Blue and even seen after watching the video, but never really saw for myself in person, but I see it alot on the shelves at some local gun stores and might have to pick some up to try.

What does bluing do on a chromed bolt? I would think not much of anything.
