I Was Wrong.....

That's right; I had a mosinitis relapse. I thought after I got the 32 Tula with the blue bolt that my mosinitis was in full remission. I went to the gun show in Lewisville, Texas expecting to be able to walk all the aisles fondling those svelte russian beauties with complete impunity.

Man was I wrong... This is a wartime Izzy with a Zig Zag stock splice and the reinforcement bolt in the wrist. Looks pretty good, but haven't got it cleaned up yet. I'll try to do that soon and get some more pics up

Only way to cure that Mosinitis is to consult Dr. Schmidt-Rubin.

Looks just like mine, except for the reinforcing bolt. Mine is a 1943 Izzy with the zig zag Russian splice, which I also found at a gun show. Today, I put an M-44 on hold at a local gun shop and will pick it up next week after pay day. I fear I'm totally afflicted now. Especially since there was a Hungarian sitting right next to it in absolutely awesome condition, or at least the wood was, but it was $100 more.

It is comforting to know that someone else has been wrong. Seems like I am wrong more often that not lately. You think it is something that is going around?

I think our Mosinitis is being exacerbated by Obamaphobia. We collectively are afraid the useless bastard may be re-elected despite every reason Americans have for NOT re-electing the Obamination; and that if this happens, to paraphrase Marcus Tullius Cicero:

When, Obama, do you mean to cease abusing our patience? How long is that madness of yours still to mock us? When is there to be an end of that unbridled audacity of yours, swaggering about as it does now? Do not the massive spikes in the NICS checks -- do not the Heller and MacDonald decisions posted by the Supreme Court—does not the alarm of the people, and the union of all good men -- do not the looks and countenances of the Congress in the matter of firearms laws that are pro-gun have any effect upon you? Do you not feel that your plans are detected? Do you not see that your conspiracy called Operation Fast & Furious is already arrested and rendered powerless by the knowledge which every one here possesses of it? What is there that you did last night, what the night before -- where is it that you were -- who was there that you summoned to meet you -- what design was there which was adopted by you, with which you think that any one of us is unacquainted?

Shame on the age and on its principles! The Senate is aware of these things; the Public see them; and yet this man lives. Lives! Aye, he comes even into the Congress. He takes a part in the public deliberations; he is watching and marking down and checking off for slaughter every individual among us. And we, gallant men and women that we are, think that we are doing our duty to the Republic if we keep out of the way of his frenzied attacks upon American freedoms!

I think that collectively, as Oliver Cromwell correctly observed, "Put your trust in God, my boys, but keep your powder dry." and as Commander Peter Quincy Taggert often said, "Never give up, never surrender!"

And let us pray that it never gets to the point where we have to take hold of our guns and yell, "WOLVERINES!" For if that day comes, the United States as we know it will be no more, and it will be up to us to have to restore the Founders' vision.

I could go back tomorrow. After all Military Gun Supply had 8-10 more of them and one was a nice looking 39 Tula. I fondled and caressed her also...

I bought one with the Zig Zag splice on Gunbroker a couple of months ago and then stumbled onto this one today. And our member fuzzy from Tombstone, Az. found one recently also.

The United States we grew up in is dead and gone. The founders are rolling in their graves at the current chain of events.

OMG! The President invoked executive privilege to block documents that he has supposedly never seen. WTF?

The pendulum is swinging in the wrong direction and I look for it to get a lot worse before it gets any better.

I apologize for the thread heist. =^)

Chazam, you buy one more MN and I will declare you so infected with Mosinitus that we can use your blood to make a antidote for the dread disease!
