Finally got the rail on the scout mount adjusted level. It's tricky getting it right so the scope adjusters don't get maxed out.
All testing today is at 50 yards, as I ran short of time. Started with Hungarian heavy ball - it shot a huge 'pattern' - this rifle is my Hex M91/30, with NC-Star 2-7X scope and rail. It has a leather lace-on cheek pad and slip-on rubber recoil pad.
Then I shot some older handloads using Lapua brass and Hornady 174gr. BT-FMJ - somewhat better but not great.
Then I shot my newer handloads using 174 gr. Sierra Matchkings. Ah! That's what she likes! Much better groups!
Looks like this rifle likes the expensive bon-bons.....
The scope and mount remained secure through all the shooting. I used Blue Loctite to secure all screws.
This rifle is the upper one in this pic....
