Guy an Gals can you ID this D on the very end of the receiver flat ( kinda looks like a 0 with the white crayon) the receiver is a 1897 Tula, the D is cross ways to the bore, i should have rotated it.
That is a Finn M39 with a Belgium (B marked) made barrel the "D" stamp marks it as having the chamber cut longer to fit for the 200gr D166 MG ammo.
The one of mine that I have got to fire, shoots the 203gr SP ammo very nicely and with a good bit less recoil then the 91/30 has with the same load.
These are great guns with lots of history and some with alot of mystery.
Not a mark that I'm familiar with Dale. Hope you and the family are doing well sir...

Doing ok Rex, thanks buddy, i didn't even think about this D before until Tha Dave ask me about it????
Hey Dave not the D on the barrel, the one on the receiver, is this not what yours looks like?
Dale
Thanks for the explanation, Tha Dave! That "D" stamp was a new one to me; I don't own any Finns yet, though I'd like to.
Frenchy's rifle had 2 "D" stamps on it. The one I was talking about was the big one on the barrel shank, but the one that he was asking about I didnt even see and it was the small one on the receiver, I am still trying to find anything I can on the at marking.
Dale, I am still looking.
