| Senior Member ![]() | Would you do this? I think its cool and I just might do it to mine. He gives links all through the article where to get what he used. I would prefer a scout mount though. Dig the muzzle break! http://www.surplusrifle.com/shooting/ernie/index.asp

| Mr. Fixit ![]() | Not bad, but I would've done it a little different. The stubby bolt handle looks almost as goofy as the ATI handle, the scope mount is way high and hard to get used to being mounted way off to the side like that. My father-in-law has a 94 winchester with a side mount and I can't stand it. I also like the "Boss Hog" from Florida Ammo Traders. Check it out www.floridaammotraders.com BTW,if you haven't seen Jims bolt handles, they're beautiful-exact replicas of the original sniper bolts and he will even convert your original matching numbered bolt or you can order another bolt body and save yours.

| If I was gonna 'sporterize' a milsurp it'd be the M48a I got. Sorry, but I think his 'experiement' is a Frankengun, lol.

| Add $500 worth of stuff to a $100 dollar gun and you got something thats worth about $110. The only thing I'd do is trigger work. I think everything on that gun looks stupid. It just LOOKS added on....not pretty. I'm with Dale on this one. I got a couple of VZ24's that would benefit from sporterizing and there is a lot more stuff available for a Mauser than a Mosin. Maybe I could sporterize a Jennings .25 acp into a Rob Leatham Gold Cup? Not likely..... |

| Super Moderator ![]() | That does look a little extreme, even to me. I like some things about it, but I agree that it's making a $100 gun worth $110. I like bent bolt handles but think that one looks stubby. Scope is way too high for me. I'd like to hear how it shoots. I suspect someone with iron sites will outshoot it.

| Well, it is your gun to do with as you wish, I am not a big fan of certain sporterized milsurps.
