| I just dropped 60 bones for one but there was a decent rifle under all the crud. The guy I bought it from saw it yesterday after I cleaned it up and said "wow, that's a hunnerd dollar rifle now!" One thing I have noticed is that the bores are all pretty rough - but the original ammo was all corrosive primer. This was my first Nagant, just hadn't bothered with them before. The complexity of the mag spring and follower assembly is rather novel. All that tiny machine work and modern 2 - 3 thousand dollar custom sporters just have an 'ol spring and stamped plate. And, that 3 piece bolt assembly is pretty wild! It's complicated comparitivly speaking but the overall function must be good - they're still here and they still work! If I run outta anything to do today I'll snap a pic of this 'ol Hungarian stick and post it - it cleaned up pretty good!

| Senior Member ![]() | I'm gonna pay $99 for a pristine 91/59 Monday. I know its too much now that the prices have fallen, but its worth it to me to be able to hold it and inspect it. Will be my 4th Mosin in 1 1/2 months!

| Super Moderator ![]() | only a 5 hour RT drive to buy a couple of rifles --gives me the chance to hand select and check out the rest of thier inventory -- when I talked to them last they told me they didn't list the full stock on the website so there are several more toys I may pick up on the trip. If CMP allowed me I would drive the 10 hours RT to Anniston, AL. to pick up a garand.

| That may sound like a deal to some but I'd stick with the unissued M44's selling for $60-$80. My unissued Polish M44 was pristine, numbered and 100% blue. |
