| why people always insist on paying for expensive ammo in a surplus firearms when cheaper, high quality warehouse ammo is available i'll never know. future, you look like the kind of guy who would be more than happy on buying a big ol' case of ammo for the swiss karabiner, I suggest you get one while your money supply lasts. :right: but yeah, I suspect good commecial rounds every once and a while would do the old Russian war horse some good. go for it |

| Mr. Fixit ![]() | The biggest advantage of commercial ammo over surplus is it's uniformity and therefore accuracy . There is also the "corrosive" issue which scares lot of folks. I currently have on hand 4 comm. loads :Wolf 148 & 200 gr.,Barnaul 204 gr.,Hotshot 185? gr., and S&B 174gr. match. As most of you have probably guessed the S&B match shoots rings around the others, BUT, it's $16.00/box. I like surplus fine for plinking but it wasn't made for precision.
