Thanks Dale, and I know what you mean about the Mosin and only having one. I havent even fired this one yet, and I already want another. The next large gunshow is in Feb. around here. I'll have $370 in Christmas money to take with me, and I figured I'd take out atleast enough to give me $700, or maybe $800 for it. Oh what to buy what to buy. I know my wife would kill me if I came home with 5 rifles |

But, you know you can buy Mosin Nagants fairly cheap...so...buy those five guns and then go to the wife and say, "I know I might have bought five guns but I saved $200 and YOU can have it." Then you've got five guns versus one and the wife has $200 to spend. Great trade-off at any rate.

Well, I think the next guns I want to look for are a 91/30, a British .303, a K31, and a full size SKS. The only good thing is most every gun I want can be had for under $200, most for less than a $100.

By British .303 I assume you mean a Lee Enfield. Great rifle...and the Swiss K31 is another. I'm not sure which I would encourage you to get first except the prices on the K31s are gonna go up here very soon. Gettem while you can.

It'd just be nice if wolf starts loading 7.5x55 rounds. I heard that prices are going way up on the rounds. If that does not happen soon, you would want an Enfield because the rounds would be cheaper and a lot more readily availible.

I'm going to shoot it tomorrow. I'm taking my M38, SKS, and my 1909 Mauser(maybe). I'm going to post this in the Mauser section also, but my Dad gave me some ammo he THINKS goes with my Mauser, its some Norma 7x57 175grain soft point ammo, NO. 17004. Is this the right ammo for my Mauser or not?

Well, today SUCKED. So we get to the range, and 4 trucks are parked at the rifle section. Theres about 7 kids running around, everyone had stuff on ALL the benches, and all they were doing was talking. Finally we get some benches after about an hour(went up to the pistol range first). So anyways, theres 2 AR's and 2 SKS's, all thinking their cool popping off as many rounds as quickly as they can, one guy even had a 75 round drum on his AR and just let it rip. So I sit down with my lone M38, first shot, I just about destroy a 8" plate at 200 yards. I cant believe I hit it, at 200 yards the gun was dead on, anything I shot at got hit(not to mention after 20 rounds my arm HURT). After that I just shot my SKS for a bit, and let my brother-in-law fire both of em while I fired his AR. Besides all the kids running around, no, it still sucked.

I remember at one of our ranges, a kid with an M1 Garand(probably about two years younger than me) was pulling it off the line because he said it hurt his shoulder too much, but thats not the bad part, when taking it off, he swings it around fast, missing this mans head by about an inch. The moral of the story is that there are idiots everywhere and idiots will always be. At least you got to try out your new weapon.

Me and my dad have the same feeling, because unfortunately, not everyone shares the same amount of caution with guns as we do, and it is a lot more dangerous

a buddy and I went to the pistol range out in elk grove. well, while we were standing on the range watching someone else shoot we notice this mid 20's girl fire a shot downrange, then turn to her boyfriend. Hammer is back, and a round is in the chamber and she is pointing this thing at some poor SOB in the next lane. I almost had a heart attack, and so did her bf.:jaw: most people are morons. | |

Same thing happend once when i was there in Elk Grove Gun Room. A man was shooting with his freind(freind in the next lane over) and went over to tell him about something, so he pulls the gun off the line, finger on the trigger, hammer back and walked over to him. And at one point the gun was aiming the opposite directon(where the glass is). That is just Darwin at work.
