| Banned | And then there were two.. Finally got my second Mosin home tonight. Its an M44, manufactured at/in Izhevsk, with 1944 marked on the receiver(both my Mosins are marked 1944). With the gunshow coming up this weekend, maybe I'll find a good 91/30 to add to my collection ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| Banned | I'm still not 100% sure on what I'm going to buy. I've got the Mosin bug, but I've also always wanted to built my own AR. So I might try and find a good deal on a lower receiver at the gun show if I can, if not, well, one, two, 8 more mosins never hurt anyone |

| Registered User | If ya dont mind my asking, how much did the M44 set you back? I saw one last week at a pawn shop in about the same condition and they were asking about $200. That seemed like to much to me.

| Banned | For $200 we got 2 M44's(the other one was actually in better shape, but since he took the time to get them I let him have it) and 5 boxes of Brown Bear? ammo. I've learned to buy this old stuff up. About 10 years ago my Dad and I were at one of the National Gun Day shows. He bought me a 1917 Eddystone .30-06 bolt action(in perfect shape) for $300. Before we left the show someone offered us $400 for it. The last few gun shows I've gone too, these guns are selling for $700-$800, ones that are in far worse shape then mine. I've learned there are 3 things you cant go wrong with, old cars, property, and old guns. I wonder what these Mosins will be worth in 20 years. Last edited by Pred; 01-05-2006 at 11:54 AM. |
