A Book About Markings & Ammo

Being fairly new to this forum, I don't know if this has been discussed before, but, North Cape Publications has a book "for collectors only" that goes into great detail on the markings, production, serial #s, and ammo for the Mosin-Nagant rifles.

Each model is discussed in detail and variations of the same model are covered. It is very informative, and answers a lot of questions.

I dunno about some people's priorities

I checked out one of these sites, and they were even cataloging Century Arms import marks. I suppose there's no harm in it, but what's the point?

It also has the arsenal marks, the rifle ID specifications, and other stuff, not just the CA imports

I know, FutureMarine. And I thank you for the links; I'll use them. I was just amazed that anyone would spend the time listing Century's marks, but maybe I shouldn't have been.

Speaking of which: when I took apart the M39 for which I'm refinishing the stock, I expected to see the original year of manufacture by the Russians on the tang. But it wasn't there. Does anyone know why? Or how else I might tell?
