| Senior Member | Only the first round fired..... Any of you boys had this problem? Russin m44, SOG C&R $32.00 Cracked stocks (only missing a cleaning rod) special. Put glue and 4 screws to fix. OK Only the first round fired.....all other rounds missfired. Tried Wolf and milsurp. Searched MN threads and bolt is not sticking or case sticking. Bullets have deep firing pin penetration. Could this be bent firing pin or whallered out firing pin hole in the bolt head?

| Resident Armed Liberal ![]() | Start with the obvious. Take the bolt apart, clean it, look it over, reassemble it, make sure the firing pin is adjusted properly. Check the head space while you're at it. Last edited by troy2000; 02-28-2006 at 10:05 PM. |

Yeah Troy, I'll put the Barnaby Jones to it. Will try another bolt form a 91-30 also. Just wondering if any body else had this happen. Thanks 7, made my day!

| Moderator ![]() | Try different ammo. If the firing pin dent is 'deep', it should go bang. I have a couple hundred Yugo 8mm Mauser shells that have never gone Bang - bad ammo! Some 7.62X54R has the primers seated too deep also. You might try turning the firing pin out just a bit more. Mosin's have adjustable piring pin protrusion!

| Senior Member | Bolt and chamber are clean. the firing pin hole seems to be larger than the one in a 91. Will try to disassemble the firing pin part of bolt, havent done that before. The firing pin under magnfication looks bent. Looks! Hmm? Thanks

| Moderator ![]() | Glad it was something simple. My newer 91/30 is shooting to one side too - just need to tap the front sight over, as it's obviously not centered. I bought a 'jam-o-matic' .22 semiauto off a guy once - I needed that model for my collection. I just cleaned it, and it has shot great since. Some prior owners are their own worst enemies. Hehehe. ![]()
