Finding a bayonet I have an M44 that my uncle found at a gun show and I went right then and bought it. When he called he didn't mention that there was no bayonet. As you know this weapon takes a folding style bayonet which I have been unable to find. My local gunshop owner said that he didn't even know how to go about ordering one, though he could find the one for the 91/30. Does anyone know where to find the correct one?

Ouch, no bayonet for the M44? I'd say Ebay is about your only bet. There are some reliable parts dealers on there, especially if you're willing to pay the right amount for it. Make sure you buy from an "ebay store" - usually they'll have hundreds or thousands of positive feedbacks. Beyond Ebay... i don't know where to find an M44 bayonet. You'll probably need a screw for it, as well. I bet it's all on Ebay, and I bet stripped Mosin parts are worth more than the gun fully assembled.

| Resident Armed Liberal ![]() | http://www.tngunparts.com/m9130.htm If they don't have it, try : http://tombstonearms.com/Products.html Question: is it missing the whole kit and kaboodle, or just the blade? If it's missing everything, it may be an M38, which came without a bayonet and predates the M44. Later M38's often had the M44 stock though, with the groove in the right side for the bayonet tip. | Wow. The last three times I bought a bayonet, it had a Russian rifle attached to it. |

From time to time, Southern Ohio Gun has m44 parts guns with broken stocks or missing parts cheap. They are usually on the last inside page of their monthly catalog. Maybe that can help with finding a bayonet.

I have an assembly on the side of the barrel where a bayonet should go, but no bayonet. It is dated 1944 with an arrow surrounded by a triangle on the reciever for the manufacturer. All I need is the blade, so I will check some of these sites and maybe I will get lucky. Thanks to all of you.
