| Speaking of the Russian language. I had a friend in the Army who had a college degree in Russian studies. He could read, write and speak Russian fluently (with a Moscow accent) and knew Russian history and culture. So if you were the Army where would put him, Intelligence perhaps? Good idea but no. The Signal Corps perhaps to monitor enemy communications? Another good idea but no. The all knowing US Army put him in the Infantry. You have to remember this was right in the middle of the Cold War. I've always wondered if he stayed in the Army.
