My favorite gun shop has a Russian with a Mauser action... What model is this and is it worth $300? It is a very neat, though the wood is rough 8 mm rifle with the famous Mauser both action. It comes up nicely and sights well. He also has one that has been sporterized very well with a Mauser action but I don't know if it was Russian or not for $225. That is a lot lighter and with the modern sights, it comes right up steady as can be. I love my Mosins, but wonder about other Russian models. Thanks for your help. Dave ![]()

Yep thats what it sounds like and it's to much money to pay for it. You can find nicer Mauser 98's at Classic Arms and I'm so sleepy I can't think of other sites. Sorry....A.H

Mausers are very good rifles...and 8mm is a great round for hunting and killing paper. For $300 though I'd go buy 3 Mauser rifles or 3 Mossins.
