drooling

i went to my local relaxation place today. and i started drooling over a very nice 1943 m91. in fact they had about 15 of them. some had the bayo. attachment, they were $119.00, the others did not have the bayo. they were $99.00 i;m telling you what i had a hard time finally walking out the door without one. i had to come home and hug my m44. it was rough,i think the mosinitis bug has hit me again just when i thought i was over it.

Finnishitis isn't the cure; it's what Mosinitis eventually turns into if not treated very, very carefully.

Well, you've got your Mosins and then you've got your Finnish Mosins. Bigger price tag, bigger craving. It's like going from beer to single malt scotch.

I started with Finnishitis. What comes next for me?

Something I don't understand here, bb. My idea of relaxation is something that stops the drooling, rather than starting it...

If they're dated 1943 and come with or without detachable bayonets, those would be 91/30's. A couple of years ago I'd have scorned the prices you were quoted, but they're probably good these days; Mosins aren't a secret anymore. Which depresses me; think how many new owners out there are sucking up the ammo I was buying for eighty bucks a crate of 880 just last year.

Lots of GI's wandering into the shops here looking for 91/30's and 44's. Then I tell them about 38's, 39's & 59's! Their eyes just glaze over. Too funny, too cruel. Kinda mean to start them on their addiction (LOL).

Actually, I have a stock and a barreled receiver, and a barrel. I want to swap the barrels. But now I am starting to like this M91 I bought for parts. With some parts I go from Moose, and a few months, she may turn out to be a shooter. My M38 project will be on hold again.
