I just saw this warning at CDNN

If you own a Norinco NDM86 .308 Dragunov please contact CUSTOMER SERVICE at 1-800-588-9500 immediately. It has been determined that certain commercial ammunition may produce a slam fire condition causing the firearm to fire out of battery. This can result in injury or death to a bystander or the shooter. A simple modification to the bolt assembly can easily remedy the situation. We are recalling only those .308 Dragunovs purchased directly or indirectly from CDNN Investments, Inc. prior to 1/1/2000. Please have your serial number ready when you call.

• DO NOT FIRE THE GUN AFTER RECEIVING THIS NOTICE!

• DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DIAGNOSE OR REPAIR THE FIREARM!

• DO NOT RETURN THE ENTIRE FIREARM. CONTACT US FOR INSTRUCTIONS!

• PLEASE DO NOT E-MAIL RECALL QUESTIONS. WE PREFER TO SPEAK WITH ALL OWNERS.

P.O. Box 6514 • Abilene, Texas 79608 • Telephone 800-588-9500 • Fax 325-695-4898

I don't know if this will affect anyone here, but take heed and be safe!

Dave

Yeah, they've had that on their website for at least 5yrs that I know of. I never heard of anyone having a problem with those guns, but I guess they're covering their azzes. FWIW, they sell a lot of guns but not on their website. I live in the same town and i have to pay the same shipping fee for everything I buy from them as if I lived in Ca., Wa., or Me.

CDNN

Things must have changed in the 4 years I have been out of that area. One of the sales guys was a friend of mine and he would hand deliver my orders to a transfer dealer on his lunch hour. Got some great deals from them over the years. Have not bought much from them since I moved to Wisconsin. Plus, the bummer is that I don't have the inside scoop on their non cataloged inventory anymore. Bummer.
