Some years back, at the height of the AWB, Sportsman's Guide was elling a 10-pack of SKS spike bayonets for about $3, as tent pegs!!
If I'd known so many guys wanted to retro-modify their Norinco SKS's, I'd have bought a case of 'em . . . Sell 'em for $5 a piece . . .

Exclamation hey hes not lieing!

That paticular bayonet is illeagal in war reason for this is, and i quote "the wounds were to hard to heal" as stated by the united states marine corps foreign war recesion department. I know im a marine corps gunnery sgt.

The asslt rifle law is a load of horse crap that law was disbanded for the reason that if the us. was ever invaded we want our citizens to be able to defend there famlilies homes and there country effectively. the scope im also looking for a better deal the surplus wants $350 for the set. Semper-Fidelas. !bring my boys home!

here is what i THINK your uncle my have heard. when i bought my sks the guy at the store told me that the spike bayo violated the janiva (spelling?) convention and jokingly told me that i wasnt allowed to go to war with it. he said that janiva convention only allowed blade bayos. so maybe he heard somthing about that and took it to mean no one could have them.

ah man the guy aboveme already kinda explained this.........

you can always replace the rear sight with the scout type mount I think B square and others make them otherwise the originals are around but hard to mount. A gun smith is the best to talk to about installation.

If a spike bayonet were illegal then they would not be for sale from every distributor selling Mosins. I can see where they would be against the convention. But like Marion said. That convention only serves our enemies now.

Gunny, many thanks for your service! And yes, I agree...BRING OUT TROOPS HOME! Get that stuff settled and get home.
