Broken Shell Extractor

Can anyone give me a good web site where I can purchase a broken shell extractor. I would like to have one just in case.

SKS 762x39 Broken Shell Extractor New

I bought one of these from them and it is the same as the ones that sell for $9.99, $14.99 or $19.99. They have one for .223 for the same price if you need that one.

OK I am wondering how often one would need a broken shell extractor. I have been shooting since I was 8 and never had a need for it. Out of the thousands of rounds I have sent down range I have never had a problem. Am I just lucky?

What causes a shell to break?

If'n you do, you'll be glad you have one! Personally, I've only used one on military automatic weapons. These weapons, of course, are more prone to seperated cartridge heads. An ounce of prevention...

I keep a small selection in my shooting box ever since I had a 303 case separation; I have used them occasionaly when other people have had the same problem on the range. You tend to see it happen a couple of times a year usually when using milsurp or reloads. When you need one, it's really worth its weight in gold!

Only reason you'll ever need one, is if you don't buy one. lol Always the case. Just like when the wife makes you throw something out saying you haven't touched, used or needed it for years. Then the day after the garbage man takes it away, you buying another one because you now need it and your telling the wife next time to mind her own business and to leave your stuff alone.

But seriously, you may never need it, but it is good to know if you do, you have one.

Glockmeister...Myself & my wife have an arrangement; the Garage & Study are mine, the rest of the house is hers!

Good for you. As I was reading what you said, and then reflected on what I had said, an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond also came to mind. On all accounts, I could totally relate. But in that episode, Deb had taken over the main bathroom. Already having the bedroom, the kitchen, well pretty much everything else except the small little corner of the basement next to the water heater she let him have to work, and earn the money to pay for it all. That was for those that didn't see it.

To me, it was quite funny not to mention one of those moments one says, yep, that's pretty much what it can be like. I can relate. lol Then, seeing you got, yes got, the garage and the study, reminded me of it is all.

But, I'm glad your wife at least let you have those two areas out of the entire house. lol Still gotta love 'em though right. I know, a tad bit off topic, but when they head that way, some times it can be worth going off topic for a moment or two.

Well lets see. The only time I needed an extractor is when a .223 case had the rim ripped off while I was sizing it. Was strange, I did NOT forget to lube the case first.

You see! You jus need one, period! You'll never use it, hopefully. But you'll have it if a shootin' dude next to you needs it! Pay it forward...
