Carbines

Anyone shooting the carbines I got a 44 and it do kick and of course it has the useless folding bayonet on it thats looks cool but does nothing. I only shot it once before the cold set in so next summer it will get a workout.

Actually, the bayonet can be a very useful item. You can use it to display your rifle without having to put up a shelf, just open the bayonet and jam it into the wall wherever you'd like to display it, and you can change the location anytime you feel like it. Just pull it out and jam it into the wall somewhere else.Let's see, you can use it to roast marshmallows around the camp fires during any hunting or camping trips. You can even use it for shish-ka-bobs (spelling?). Just to name a few. of course.

Took my M44 out for the first time last week with a synthetic stock from ATI and found out that it kicks like a mule. I wound up with a sore sholder (just getting old I quess) but can not wait to take it out again.

SIR THOSE BAYO'S ARE NOT WORTHLESS, FOR ONE THING YOUR M44 WAS SIGHTED IN WITH THE BAYO " FIXED" IF YOU SHOOT IT WITH IT "FOLDED" IT WILL SHOOT WAY OFF, POI UP TO 10" LEFT. ANOTHER THING IF YOU RUN OUT OF AMMO, JUST CHUCK IT LIKE A SPEAR!

If you use the right ammo the muzzle flash can heat up those kabobs as well...

rule of thumb...

5 rounds for rare, 10 rounds for medium, and 15 rounds for well done. This is variable depending on meat type and number of veggies.

By the time you're done shooting lunch is served.

YMMV.

Oh, and Geo M44, don't forget, if you use Milsurp ammo instead of new commercial, you're already adding salt to the meat from the corrosive primers, so you don't need to add anything but a little pepper before cookin' 'em up!

If you are shootin and cookin just remember to not put BBQ sauce on your chicken. It catches fire. New definition of smoke pole!

I'm on a low sodium diet so I'll make sure that I use my own hand loaded ammo, and increase the powder load to 46gr for better muzzle flash. Keep in mind that you can shoot it and cook it with the same rifle...

Mmmmm! Good eatin'.

Big Boomer... Note that after 10 rounds the M44 makes a great hand warmer. Important for cold weather shooting.

The M44... more than just a carbine.

No worries there Geo, the primer has Potassium Chlorate that becomes Potassium Chloride, which is a salt just like Sodium Chloride (aka table salt) and is used sometimes in the food industry in place of table salt to reduce sodium. So, you can go ahead and use that mil-surp, just make sure you're not also taking potassium pills for a heart condition as too much potassium (as with any chemical) can kill you. This is how Mamba snake poison works: Dendrotoxin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia .

Talking

The bayo can be a life-saver! Say you are pig-hunting, and the first shot don't put the porker down . . . now he's MAD! Danggit, the old 'stiff bolt' problem rears it's ugly head . . .

The pig is charging, and he ain't 'packing plastic'!

Voila! The Bayo to the rescue - "pig on a poker!"
