Can someone please tell me the distance the numbers on the rear sight stand for? (Yards, meters, or some wierd measurements?)
Thanks!

If it's a standard M91/30 sight, it's in meters. Go to 7.62x54r.net and scroll down and click on the sights page to check it out.

It will either be in 100's of meters or in 100's of "Arshins", which are explained in the link above.

If the sight is marked 4,6,8,10,12 it's in arshini's. 1-20 is hundreds of meters.

So if you wanna shoot something that's 2000 meters away, you slide your lil adjuster all the way to the 20, aim, and.....YEAH RIGHT!!!!!

You hire a sniper to shoot it at the same time you pull the trigger and claim the victory

Yea, it can be done. A good rifle, good ammo, perfect eye sight, lots of training, lots of skill, lots of praying, a little white lie now and then when know one's looking. Yea it can be done.
