I bought a can from AIM last year.. what a PIA. Their website offered
1 can or 1 case (2 cans) If you buy the case you got the can opener.
Well after careful review of the can I turned it upside down on a work bench and using a flat tip screw driver worked my way around the outer lip, hitting the screwdriver until it punched through. After I had about 3/4 done I just pryed it back. Wish they still had those case lots for sale!

I just wimped out and found somebody selling the can opener for 5 bucks. Was a lot cheaper than a second can of ammo.

*hacksaw*. I got a sealed can of Bulgarian light ball from a friend, and after getting detailed instructions on how to use a pair of pliers to work the tab open, I simply used a hacksaw.

Has anyone tried using a p-38 or P-51 can opener to get the can of ammo open?
I think it should work, but the ammo can seems to be really thick.
Thoughts?

P38, tiny little edge that would take forever to open a spam can, even if it fits over the rim. Real opener, big long cutting blade.

So who has a sealed can handy to try a WWII style experiment? Mosin bayonet tip, meet sealed can of ammo. Meanwhile the Nazis are getting closer, and your political officer is yelling incoherently. What do you do? Work to get the can open as quick as possible, or shoot him with the Luger you picked up yesterday and drag the useless corpse to the front lines?
