Hey guys no one has told why to get one. I will,my dealer has them in ex. condition for 90.00. Buy the way steel cases do crack necks easy the don't have the give of brass thats why you should not reload them.

Ingous and others, seems nobody mentioned the actual signs of Headspace problems to the guys. I understand that it was simply a case neck crack which is very common on cases which haven't been sufficiently annealed or have hardened over the years.
Headspace problems, usually with excessive headspace you will have "Blown" primers or even get the "belted magnum" look, where the case head has expanded too much or in the worse case scenario you get a case head separation or blowout! That's what the holes on the side of the receiver are for. (actually I'm assuming a little bit here cos I've never owned a Mosin but do have Mauser & Enfield actions)
You can't compare rimmed Cartridges to non-Rimmed as far as Headspace goes... AGAIN...MOSINS Headspace on the RIM.!!! NOT the Case shoulder, and The cases were NOT designed to be ReLoaded...Just dumped on a Battlefield...Steel cases are Not reloadable for a variety of Reasons....
Mausers and Enfields Headspace Totally Different from Mosins...

EXACTLY Ingous! It's a wikipedia here! I love posing a question, and having all these guys jump online, or look in a book, or simply state fact (or a swag), and all of a sudden, BOOM! It's what we are all about dude!

Most Enfields were designed for the Rimmed cartridge as well and the signs of excess headspace are virtually identical for Rimmed & Rimless!!!!!

Not U.S. Enfields !
British Enfields do Headspace on the rim in .303...You can have perfect headspace on a rimmed cartridge, but a bad Chamber in the barrel and you will split casings all day long, or blow out shoulders, whereas a worn chamber and a Rimless cartridge will affect Headspace...
