You think this 91/30 saw combat?

Manf. date on receiver is 1943 and as far as I know 43-44 in Russia saw lot of fighting. Take a look at the pistol grip area. The finish is rubbed off to bare wood. Looks like it was held and carried ready for action for a long period of time. It's on both sides and the left side is even more worn like it was carried against the body rubbing on stuff.

Guess it's the way I would have carried it in battle.

Comments?

Fun to dream about such things. Steve is right, no way to know for sure. But fun to dream and wonder about.

Pour yourself an adult beverage of your choice, sit by the fire, alone, with you mosin in your hands...let it talk to you and tell you it's secrets. Just don't get kinky or nothin!

i thought there was ways to trace if a rifle saw action. wasn't there some kind of info that was found in the stock provided someone later didn't remove it?

That info would be quite a find. I would be greatly surprised if reliable info on the history of a particular rifle was available. I would spend a lot of time looking if it were though!

If it's a 1943 model, you're in luck. 1943 was the lowest production year, and they're very sought-afer.
