Stripper Clips

I was wondering if anyone has a preference in stripper clips as to if they work and if they are a needed item/waste of money. I see on ebay a guy by the name of "uglycarfan" has them for sale as with the description: "You are looking at 20 mosin nagant stripper clips in brass. these are brand new production and are patterned off an original russian arsenal stripper clip. They are made on brand new tooling and work great in my 5 mosin nagant rifles. free shipping to the lower 48".
Anyone ever buy these from him and if so, do they work?
Thanks!

I only buy the brass ones. I've never had any problems. I don't know that guy, but if they are brand new, I'd make sre he has a return policy. You don't NEED stripper clips, but they do make loading quicker.

I prefer and recommend the stripper clips from egunparts. I've used these for a while and they work great there made of spring steel and have a sharp 90 degree bend in them unlike cheaper ones.

I bought the 20 brass ones from the guy on ebay and they work GREAT! I also like the fact that the brass won't damage my receiver, since it's softer metal than the steel. I worry that the spring steel would scratch my mosin's receiver.

Now, as with all 7.62x54r stripper clips, you have to either push down just in front of the stripper clip or hold the last round "up" as you push them in, so that the rims don't bind up.

Thanks Guys! I've been inserting the rounds by hand or just inserting one down the pipe. I think I'll go with the brass as I was also wondering about scratching.

Is there a video or instruction manual on how to load a Mosin stripper clip? I'm trying to visualize loading the stripper and I'm not seeing it.

That's neat Zephri, but I think Cyr was talking about loading the Mosin from the loaded stripper clip.
