Scavege or Build?

Scavenge that is! OK, I have bought 2 Mosins specifcally for parts. One has made it to the buzz saw, one in worse condition is being rebuilt because I was told to try it first! Thanks to the M---- for that! It is in the final stages of being rebuilt. It has been fired, but now occupies my dreams in the hunt for the last 3 original parts. At what specific point do you cannabalize, or say let go and go for it? Two polarized camps. But put that aside and answer honestly. The saw is waiting..

Since no one ever seems to be in the chat room to talk to, and to get to know, I'll ask you guys this question here. Are you 2 guys real close to each other up there in Alaska?

You've got an original M-91? I picked one up a while back too, those barrel bands are tricky! lol Seems like I know where to look to get those parts, just can't remember right now...I'll look around though!

Well, no one has the barrel bands currently...I'll give you my three links though, maybe they'll get them soon, or have the rest of the stuff you need...Mosin Nagant*&!@#%|*&!@#%1891*&!@#%|*&!@#%e-GunParts.com Mosin Nagant Parts and Accessories As always Hope there's some use to them! Good luck, and post pics when you can, I'd like to see your project!

Thats it Moose. It's the one I picked up when you were down here. If you remember, I bought it for parts. The barrel was supposed to be shot. It has cleaned up pretty decent. I would like to get the correct magazine with swivel. Also the screws on the barrel bands are really stripped, and I can't get them out.

Have you been able to remove the bands ???? If so, send them to me and I will see if I can remove the old screws and build you new screws , I may have some Screws in My old rifle parts box...If we could find the correct swivel, we can convert a regular magazine to the early one Too.
