They Arrived!!

Picked up my M38 and M39 today. Both came in at the same time from different distributors. M38 has a true M38 stock with matching numbers. Looks great! M39 is awesome as well! I can't wait to put up a range report. Should post some pictures tonight after work. After selling one rifle I now have more military collectibles than hunting rifles!!!!

Aw, Marion. My SKS came home with me last week. But let's see who gets the pics up first! Race YA!!!!

Got the M39 from SOG. SAKO with B barrel.

M38 is all matching except the floor plate which is line out and over stamp. Looks great though.

Thanks. I got the SOG catalog and have been tempted. They have a copy of my 03, so it makes it easy. Not a cheap Mosin... but not too bad.

Here they are!

Here they are!!! M39 first then M38 lami. I find I am having no luck with matching floor plates. The rest of the rifles match but on the m38 the floor plate is forced match. On the M39 it is not even forced. It is just not matching. But the rest of both rifles look great! The M38 is counterbored, the M39 is a B barrel and not counterbored. Enjoy the porn!

Me too, Rich. If I had known what a great feeling rifle and well made rifle the Finn was I would have picked one up sooner. It just feels right and shoulders well. Now they have the VKTs on sale this month.

VKT's are $259, B Barrels are $349, and SAKO's are $299.95.

I know your pain. I might be able to squeeze out a VKT from the budget.

Pardon my Mosin ignorance, but what the heck is that t-shaped tab for on the bottom-front barrel band in picture "DSCF0579.jpg"?!

It kind of looks like you'd attach a bayonet to it....

259! Mooseman! I don't regret getting the Sako but after hand pick fee and shipping I paid almost 100 more for the Sako. They never told me that the VKTs were on sale.

For the above who asked, no I wanted a great rifle and a laminated stock. Bought the M38 from Centerfire Systems. Very pleased. The M38 I am sure has been refinished at some time in it's life but I can not tell that it has. It is sharp as new.

JAC that is exactly what it is. A bayonet lug. The Finns took the Mosins and reworked them and made them into a much better rifle. Better accuracy.
