| Senior Member | It's home! I picked up my 91/30 today and brought her home. I'll have to post before and after pictures. While she's not lousy with cosmoline, she's definitely going to have to be cleaned, and the bolt disassembled, cleaned up and lubed before I try to fire her (also bought two strippers and 50 rounds of milsurp to get acquainted with). I'll try to take before photos of the bore as well. I put a bore light up her and the lands look sharp but covered with grease and sand. Nothing boiling water won't fix, once I get her apart. Now I have to go look up on Youtube how to disassemble a Mosin. Supposedly it's not difficult - and I can believe as much of that as I want. |

| Senior Bear Fluffer ![]() | Not too difficult at all. YouTube video is very helpful. First time I took the bolt apart it came apart like a snap. Putting it back together was the learning experience. Now it is a snap.

| Senior Member ![]() | Congrats Cyr! Glad you like her! Go here: Collecting and Shooting the Military Surplus Rifle (2006) - Surplusrifle.com , then scroll down the left side menu and select mosin. When you get that page look on the right for tutorials with pics on Mosin D&A and bolt D&A. Give us a yell if you have any questions.
