Problems Posting

I have created several new threads that, once posted, never show up on the board. I have also rpelied to threads and it took days for my reply to actualy show up. Anyone have any similar problems? I don;t even know if THIS thread will be posted once I hit submit.

Well, your thread is here, purplemonkey. I've never had what you describe happen on this site. I have had posts that I have edited after I posted them disappear, but I don't know if that's due to a site glitch or to my getting bored after five minutes of waiting for the post to save and moving away from it before the site completes the save process - which should not take five minutes, anyway.

As with ay LARGE board there are inconsistencies that just, well, happen. I am playing H@LL trying to get pics to go. Just deal with it until its fixed. That's the best you can do!

Thats cool. I seem to have no problems posting now. It was frustrating becasue I had two long posts that just dissapeaered after I submitted them, but odds are I was doing something wrong or the error was on my end ;-)

My first new thread took quite a while to appear because it was being reviewed I assume. Several hours if I remember right. But it did show eventually, and my actual reply postings were coming up immediately.

Thanks for your patience gentlemen. Chris, the owner, has set the forum defaults of new members in a manner to help screen first posts you make in order to help cut down on spam. Obviously you're not doing that and need to know you're gonna be able to get complete control of your posts ASAP.

My best advice for you as a Mod is to be patient, try to understand that Chris is really "under the gun" so to speak, trying to manage everything needed to keep this free site for us all open and running smoothly.

Like most of us, he's got other things in his life using his time, too. Personally, I think he's done an outstanding job of organizing this site, keeping it operating smoothly, continuously modifying and expanding forums as the interest in them changes, etc., and all at a bargain basement cost to us..."free." Now that's better than a "two for one" sale.(ha)

But...we still need to hear your comments about concerns you have, changes you might suggest, and more. Just keep telling your friends about this site and watch it keep growing. BTW, in the past two years this site has grown tremendouly in the number of people who've joined, and the number of guests coming here regularly. Something must be working right. Don't be shy about letting Chris know if you appreciate what he's doing to keep this site operating.

We all come here for a reason. It's a great site for Mosin Nagant addicts.

Except when the site runs into capacity limits, I've never had a problem posting here.

I always appreciate good sights with great information that are free and the people that provide them. I just wanted to make sure my computer wasn't screwing with me or something wasn't malfunctioning on my end and your post saved my PC from the wrath of my m44. Just kidding, but you know you've all thought the same thing once or twice ;-)

Sorry about the issues. I have a program that scans your first post. It picks up key words to see if they are spam advertisements, and then kicks them over to me for manual review. A little pain in the rear for both me and you, but it makes it easier than having to delete 30 threads manually from a spammer. I'm constantly trying to improve the site, and keep it at a reasonable cost to you (free).

Life Oxford said, my life is a constant go go go...so sometimes things get delayed, but I promise I'm not singling you out.

If you ever have an issue, send me a message.

Thepurplem0nkey...it's a pleasure having you, and others like you, participating on G&G. My comments were of a general nature and not intended to be taken personally. It's important that members have a general understanding of what makes this forum work. Hopefully, my comments, as well as Chris's, have helped you and others understand some of the reasons for the delay of new members being able to post immediately.

Now I'm looking forward to reading more of your posts throughout the entire Gunandgame.forum list. It's amazing what's here and available on all sorts of gun subjects.

P.S...Hopefully you, and others interested, will show up on "chat" some evening between 6-10pm, CST. That is when several of us regularly go there to talk about anything/everything. I'd be happy to talk with you there. We even talk about guns there sometimes (ha).
