That 03-FFL does give you a certain amount of freedom. But keep in mind that you are held accountable for that weapon, and if you sell it you must keep a record of purchase and sale (just like an 01-FFL) in your bound-book.

The ATFB may also audit you at their convenience. It is a real Federal Fireams License issued to collectors to allow the purchase fireams accross state lines.

Took me 30 days on the money to get it back, recieved my packet of other info 2 weeks after that.
As for selling guns? thats not even a option, I used to sell guns off and on and swap back and forth but last few years I made myself a promise to get back every gun I ever sold or get one like it and I have. Everything now is "For Me Only" lol

you can also import non-military firearms as well

I think mine is taking a little longer because I used to have a 01ffl.

Expect a lot of spam from all those places. What I want to know is...does Gun Spam count as spam?

I USE MINE FOR PARTS AND AMMO WAY MORE THAN ACTUALLY BUYING GUNS.
i just saved 50 bucks on a peep sight from brownells thanks to my c&r.
i have only bought 1 firearm with my c&r.
but i have saved almost 1000 bucks on other purchases.

p.s. while i have had that license i bought that 1 gun with it .
but in that period i have purchased 16 over the counter.

Maybe things have changed, but I'm pretty sure that you can buy ammo (interstate) without an 03-FFL. However, if you have one on file, and the shipping address jives, you don't have to provide extra ID.

I was pretty selective of to whome I sent my 03-FFL, and it's nice to get the flyers from J&G and SOG. AIM used to send stuff, but not recently. I'm sure the mail person thinks I'm a total gun freak... well, uh yes, but maybe not total. Except for 1911's I'm not much of a handgun fan.

Billy, I didn't know that an FFL was required for parts. Interesting.

Tex and Roadie,

You might want to follow up. I received mine (albeit 2 years ago) in about 3 - 4 weeks. I would think that having an 01-FFL would help speed things up.

Can you list them? I just started a thread asking for the places that you send your c&r to in the C&R forum here on gunandgame.

you can buy ammo and gun parts almost any where without a FFL but there are places like midway and brownells and others that will give you a discount for having a FFL on file with them which makes it worth it.
