I was thinking of adding the scope. They have a kit that you knock the rear sight out and put the mount on. Forward mounted, long relief scope hmmmm. Someone on the surplus forum or somewhere did it cost about $150. More then I would like to spend but would surely make it much more useful. Anyone have any experience with it. Just curious if there is any difficulty that isn't mentioned. Sounds simple though. Or is there an even simpler way that I'm not aware of doing?

Millwright 39:
You are the MN tribal Chief.
Two MN 44s live here (plus two Minis and SKS).
Until last October my only gun was an old Savage .22. My wife wondered whether a sudden psychosis had gripped me.
When she heard in August that a second MN 44 (my last) was needed as an early
'Christmas gift', her head slumped over as if she had been struck by a South American native's blow dart.
She then stared into another dimension, speechless, slowly shaking her head.
Can you imagine this?

Can you imagine this? | Yep, wives just don't understand the disease. When my mil surp count reached 20 I was told either stop collecting or she was going to leave me. Sometimes, when the weather is cold, I sure miss her. LOL!!!

| My M44 Project
Here are a couple of pics of my M44
Modified stock, DIY Front site with elevation adjustment pin.
This is my first attempt at DIY "gunsmithing" i use that term loosly because I have the highest respect for real gunsmiths.
I need to learn how to braze and solder better and I may try another and actually parkerize it and refinish the stock.
