No, Mosinitis makes you crave tins of milsurp ammo, and buy more Mosin's. Severe attacks can be triggered by the smell of cosmoline.

Haven't bought one yet, but I do still have a pic of the 91/30 that I missed the opportunity to buy due to being between jobs.
She was a beauty.

Add one more Tikka, Finn m91 on the list there, Swede!
Found at a gun show while Just2boyz was off ah playin' somewheres else. This one is non matching but has a strong bore, cleaning rod, good stock with just a few reparis of knot holes and a mystery.
On the top of the receiver there seems to be Austrian proof marks. I can not find the marks on rifle barrel proofs but I can find them on bayonets from austria. The marks look like the one on the bayonet pictured.
Anyone have any insight or info on this? I can't find much.

It looks like one of these before the backwards N which is a proofing mark I believe. So it was stamped as belonging to the Austrian Arsenal (OEWG):

I thought Austrian was German? I dunno, wierd.

The OEWG is Austrian. I probably should have said without instead of before. It is hard to tell in this example but it appears the OEWG is stamped over the Cyrillic proof.

It's official. I traded my iPod and my Wii for one 1906 Tula M1891 Mosin Nagant. Haven't tested her out yet, but I have taken a Pic. I'm thinking of letting the bolt soak in some mineral spirits tomarrow since who ever owned the gun, had good intentions, but really went overboard with the gun oil. The bore looks good, the rifling is in great shape, just needs some cleaning. Any sugestions on what kind of polish I can use on the stock? I'm thinking it doesn't really need a full refinishing, just maybe a nice polishing job can bring its current finish back to life. My neighbor gave me two rounds, but I looked them up and they're Albanian from 1985, so I'm afraid they're corrosive and I don't have any amonia. I'm holding off on test firing it until I can either clean it afterwards or get some non-corrosive stuff.
Overall the gun appears to be in good shape, just a little dirty. Most of the cosmoline seems to have allready been removed, only sign of it I've seen is towards the rear of the action. Doesn't seem to affect it any.
