Whew! Glad you picked up the 21! The FBI had been searching for that gun for a long time because it was suspected to have been used by a Russian Mafia member in a long distance hit! They said if they find the owner he is going to go to the big house for a long time. That's why I haven't picked it up yet!

I will send you a cake with a file in it, buddy!!

I am starting to see a big drop in sales of M44's. They were normally equal to the M91/30's, but not so anymore.

That is because there aren't many around right now, Steve. Dunham's usually has 8 to 10 on the rack and now only have one or two at best! Importers need to get busy! Otherwise I am going to have to hop a boat to the Ukraine and bring them back myself!

Well, today I got my second Mosin. It's a 1956 Chinese T53. Bolt does not match the rest of the gun's serial numbers. The bayonet is missing and the stock is in very poor condition, it was split in two places once before, and I'm assuming the three screws on the side is whats holding the buttstock on. But the bore does seem tight from inserting a bullet into the tip of the barrel, though my neighbor said he couldn't hit anything with it when he shot it. I can't complain about blemishes though, as it was given to me for free by my neighbor. So, heres to my second mosin, and both within two weeks.

Here's some pics:

DAMN!! What did the original owner do, use it as a hammer?! Oh man, that's brutal!
BUT, a free Mosin is always a great thing! Can't complain about the price, that's for sure. Congrats!

Plus, here's the good part, it looks like a good project gun. Have fun with it.

Those things don't work too good. They shred the bullets before they come out of the end of the barrell.

Adam- Sounds like you need a different stock for your new M44. If the stock is as bad as you say, you'll never get it to shoot straight. What condition is your handguard in ??

There's a large split in the handguard that runs for about 4 inches between the barrel bands, here's a pic:
