I've got a 91/30 that I bought last year and an M38 I got a couple weeks ago. The 91/30 can be seen in the Refinished Mosin Nagants thread. No pics of the M38 yet. Refinished Mosin Nagants |

Picked up an M39 "B" barrel and a tin of light ball ammo this morning at a garage sale. Barrel is minty mint. I won't suffer unto you gentlemen what I paid for it but let's just say I didn't dicker on the asking price. The old widow only spoke Finnish and I don't.

Just picked up a m44 a couple days ago with some ammo, its missing the cleaning rod, and I probly paid a bit much for it, but it shoots straight and plus I bought it locally, if i got one shipped to an ffl dealer I most likely would have ended up paying about the same amount. I think I got it for 200 with 100 rounds of ammo. Bolt is clean and maintained, the stock is worn, I dunno but it looks like it had seen some action just by the type of wear and tear on the stock. The guy said he has owned it since the 60s and it was made in 44 and he took good care of it. Ill post pics once I get them, cant now cause Im at college

That's why you need a C&R license! Shipped straight to your door, and you can get Mosins for 80 bucks plus shipping online.

Tulamosin do you have pics of this 1946 Izzy 91/30? Tang and receiver pics? I don't know as Izhevsk made 91/30s in 1946. I wonder if it could be a Romanian 91/30. They were produced from 1946-1948 and put in M44 stocks with a fore end spliced on the M44 stock to make it regular 91/30 length. Arsenal stamp looks like Izhevsk stamp. Romanian stamp is arrowhead only inside triangle, Izhevsk is arrowhead and fletching inside triangle. Let us know

Proud owner of a Tula(i think) 1935 91/30. Soon hope to own a Finnish m28 or possibly a M39. If wondering of my reasoning read my thread on the white death!

Markings on both the barrel and the (round)receiver tang are Izhevsk (arrow with fletching), date on barrel is 1946 but the tang date stamp only has "19" under the Izhevsk mark. The tang date was stamped too close to the rear screw hole, so the last two digits of the year missed the metal completely. The Soviet hammer and sickle crest is cleanly stamped on the rifle; not the Romanian RPR crest. All other markings are Russian (checked with Terence Lapin's "The Mosin Nagant Rifle").
