2 M44's and 1 M38, 1 m44 is sporterized, one of the 44's is Hungarian, considering converting the sporter to the m38 because of its weight.

I have a Mosin nagant 1891/30 bought at Big 5 sporting goods about a year ago for about $89 out the door, I think that it's a really great rifle moderate recoil, ammunition is always readily available and take down for cleaning is really easy overall a great gun.

Current count is two.
1 - 91/30
1 - 91/30 sniper
Looked around a bit and realize this is a place to hang out.
So how many of you are reloading 7.62x54R

The other is a pure Hungarian wore out barrel and all.

It would seem that the transition to the full 91/30 specs took a few years. The only evidence left if the rear sight base on the barrel. If there is a gap beneath the back of the rear sight base, it originally had the Konovalov sight of the M91 and Dragoon.

FWIW, my '31 Tula is an ex-Dragoon.

FWIW, my '31 Tula is an ex-Dragoon. | Thanks for the tip Ken. In looking at mine with the info you gave me, the sight base sits flush. Thanks for the clarification. BTW, are you going to the DesMoines gun show this weekend at the fair grounds? I can't make it. Got the rellies for the holiday and I have to save some cash for Xmas.

| I just got my first one.
I am new to the world of military surplus and just bought my very first MN i know that it was made in 1936from the date stamp. but unfortunately that is all i know. from the ID thread the rifle is either a 91/30 or it is a soviet dragoon. the thing i didnt understand was when you look at the rear sight leaf is it from the back or side? common sense tells me that it would be from the side which means it is a dragoon. also what does izzy and tula mean? and how do you figure out which it is?

It's dummy ammo or a snapcap.
