Head space gauge

These are coin-type gauges, no disassembly of your bolt is required. This makes them ideal for quick checks of headspace at gun shows or pawn shops. Simply open the bolt and lay the gauge on the bolt face with the notch aligned on the extractor, then gently close the bolt. If the rifle is within tolerance it WILL NOT fully close on the gauge, thus the NO-GO designation.

I machine these gauges myself from start to finish. I then harden and grind them for precision and durability. I will be offering GO and FIELD gauges in 7.62x54R very soon, as well as other rimmed mil-surp calibers such as .30-40 Krag and .303 Enfield. Currently I have 35 gauges on hand ready to ship. No waiting 3-4 weeks for a gauge. I work full time so I am only able to manufacture these on the weekends. Once my current supply runs out my turnaround time will be one week as I fabricate many gauges at a time.

Price is $25.00 per gauge delivered to your door.

I am working towards becoming a site sponsor so I can set up a store front here but I need to generate a little capital to work with.

There seems to be a need. It is a good idea. I must say I have never used the coin type gage though.

marion, be sure to write an instruction sheet that tells exactly how to insert and use the gauge. Include sketches and/or photos. There is a real demand/need for this sort of thing, especially for people new to the Mosin like me. I'll order one from you soon, so I can carry it with me to shows and shops when I'm searching for my next one.

Swede is correct posted for you all to buy but it isnt me selling click on the link to e mail the guy ..
As far as useing one you just slip it on the bolt end like a spent round and gently close the bolt!! It should not close!!

I can do the same thing with a spent steel Casing and a piece of feeler guage if necessary !

If I had a press and a milling machine I would make some but I probably never be able to aford the equipment !!

What size feeler gauge Mooseman??

If it will close on a Steel cartridge Casing it is a Go, Add a .003 (3 Thousandths) piece of feeler gauge the size of the inside bolt face and this will be field Guage..Tough to close with some resistance...Remove the .003 and add a .006 and this is NO GO...The bolt should not close...Do Not Force it!..I put a dab of heavy grease on the Old primer and stick the piece of Feeler Gauge on the casing to hold it...Insert the casing under the extractor, Into the bolt and chamber it...
(You could do 2 pieces of .003 but the grease in between them can add a couple of tenths. like .0002 to .0004)

You can buy a cheap set of feeler gauges at any auto parts house...

I went right out to my shed and found an old feeler gauge! So, it got me thinking, Moose couldn't you do the sme thing with a bladetype gauge and cut it to fit? I already have store bought gages, but this is just a jim-dandy idea!

LOL I think what rich was saying is get a blade type feeler gage and cut a peice off it the will fit the bolt head
