| Senior Member | ati stocks? I have a 91/30 that was hacked off to 18" and the stock trimmed. I think I will use this rifle for hog hunting in GA and would like to know if anyone knows how long the fore-end of the ati stocks are. Will I have to trim the stock to correctly fit the 18" barrel. By the way even with a short barrel this thing is a deer slayer off-hand at 200 yds. |

| Bullet Maintenance !! ![]() | Welcome to G&G jaeger! With an original barrel length of 28 3/4 inches, I think it's going to be close on the ATI intened for the M91/30. Maybe you could get the one intended for the M44, and do a little dremeling to fit? Hopefully someone who has one sitting in front of them can measure for you. Again, welcome!

| Steve, I always thought that the ATI stocks were universal fit (M38, M44, 91/30, etc.) as the pictures I've seen have a lot of barrel overhang with a 91/30. Fer instance (kinda small pic): |

| Bullet Maintenance !! ![]() | Don't know. I was just throwing out some possibilities to research. As I said I don't have one. But from your pic, it looks like the stock would still work with a 18" barrel, don't you think? EDIT: Went to ATI site, an it is a generic stock for all Mosins. Couldn't find any dimensions. The carbines have a 20 1/4 inch barrel, but that includes about an inch or so in the receiver. Jaeger-Where are you measuring fom to get 18" ?

| Yeah, from the pic with the mosin second from the left (took a while to find it... didn't recognize it at first!) the ATI stock should work just fine on that.

| The magazine is always what I look for to ID a MN. Nice group of firearms. We can help store the non-NJ fireams in AZ for ya. Not a problem here. Make sure to ship some ammo so they get warmed up once in a while. |

| Senior Member | Yeah Jersey sucks. No pistol grip long guns, mag cap 15, no folding or tele-stocks, only certain muzzle brakes, cant hunt with centerfire rifle. I actually have been using this mosin for my camp gun when I go to copper harbor snow-mobiling. Everyone looks at it and says what the hell is that. And I simply reply with "A rifle I know will fire in this weather". I think I will order the ATI tommorow, and worst case just have to trim it. Thanks guys. |
