M91/30

She's a 1930 Izhevsk. She cleaned up well.

I love those brass bands! I kick myself for not picking up the one I found with them.

Have you had a chance to shoot her yet?

If you are like me, I have to prioritize and plan out what I am going to shoot on any given day. I only have about 2 to 4 hours to shoot on the weekends and it is a hard decision on what to shoot! I want to shoot them all!

Steve, how about a little more info on those brass bands? I've never seen a Mosin with those before. Definitely worth looking for, for certain sure.

The end caps for the handguard are there to protect. The earlier types used brass and copper, probably because they are so maleable. Mine are Brass with copper rivets, an early type that is uncommon. The evolution went through 8 types for the M91/30 and carbine models.

Moose, I have a feeling that he purposely didn't have that rifle with him when you were there. He knew you were such a smooth talker that you would have tried to talk him out of it before he even got a change to open the bolt!!
