ok george, i'll swing in there tomorrow and check it out.

i'm glad it worked out for you, any time i can help just let me know.
the people there at 111 are very nice and real helpfull. i've purchased
several things there. they have a good selection of mil-surp. rifles
a couple of months ago they had a jap. wwII rifle in excl. cond. but wanted over $300 for it so i passed on it.

Should have capitalized... The Ruger .204 is a .204 caliber bolt action rifle cooked up by Ruger and Hornady. The round is (of course) .204 but it's a centerfire necked down .222 Mag (approx. .223 size) case. Muzzle velocity is somewhere around 4000+fps. Costs about 5 to 8 M44's.

Boy, Doesn't it though!! I have been looking for another Ruger no. 1 in a light caliber ever since I sold mine 12 years ago. Everytime I find what I want I don't have the money and when I have the money I can't find the rifle. So what do I do....I buy a herd of Mosins or a Savage 99 or braces for the kids, groceries...ya know, silly stuff like that.

.204's are like Mosins. Once you shoot one you want it. Unfortunately, unlike MN's the starting price is ~$550 (~$300 if you want a NEF single shot breakdown type)

For as much as I want a .204, it can wait until I complete my carbine collection with a B barrel M39 and the 1944 M44 tula. Cost is about the same, but the MN's are a necessitiy!!! No addiction here...
